DESCRIPTION:Dear Mikans\, \n\n\n\nWe’re back!  The Mikan Film Fest is returning for its second year — and we want to see YOUR films on the big screen. Proceeds from the festival will help support the AJET Scholarship Fund\, so your creativity helps give back to our kids! \n\n\n\n  What lies beneath the peel? That’s for you to decide. Peel back the layers and show us your story.   \n\n\n\n Key Details\n\n\n\nWho can submit? Current Ehime JETs and recent alumni (within the past five years)Deadline: January 19\, 2026Film Length:  30 seconds – 7 minutes      Prompt: Submit a film – anything under the Mikan sun . From holiday comedies to spooky shorts to heartfelt documentaries about life in Japan – anything goes.  Format: MP4  — please use a 16:9 landscape aspect ratio for optimal display  How to submit: Upload your film to Google Drive and send us the link via the submission form Email for questions: mikanfilmfest@gmail.com \n\n\n\nContent Guidelines \n\n\n\n“Anything under the Mikan sun” really does mean anything — as long as it’s safe and respectful! DESCRIPTION:Date: Saturday\, June 6\, 2026\n\n\n\nTime: 11:00 AM – 4:00 PM (Feel free to arrive whenever you like or stay later!)\n\n\n\nPlace: Kashima Island(Hojo\, Matsuyama\, Ehime)\n\n\n\n\n REMINDER: GETTING THERE\n\n\n\n\nBy train: Meet outside Iyo-Hōjō Station by 10:45 AM if you want to walk down to the port with the main group.\n\n\n\nBy car: Meet directly at the Kashima Island Ferry Terminal by 11:00 AM.\n\n\n\nNote: It’s not required for us to go together at the same time. Everyone is welcome to head over to the island at whatever time they please! The ferry runs back and forth every few minutes.\n\n\n\n\n COSTS & LOGISTICS\n\n\n\n\nFerry Ride: ¥230 round-trip (Paid individually at the port terminal).\n\n\n\nFood & Drinks:\n\nIf you opted for the AJET BBQ\, please be prepared to pay up to ¥2000. This will include the rent for the grill\, BBQ meat\, some veggies\, and some snacks! You can still bring your own snacks and drinks if you’d like. \n\n\n\nIf you opted for BYO\, don’t forget to pack your favorite grillables\, drinks\, and snacks!\n\n\n\nNote: There’s a small shop in the guesthouse on Kashima Island\, but we recommend buying your stuff at the supermarket near Hojo Station for more options! \n\n\n\n\n\n\n WHAT TO BRING \n\n\n\n\nDon’t forget your beach essentials! We highly recommend bringing picnic blankets/mats\, beach towels\, sunscreen\, hats\, hydration\, and any outdoor games or music speakers you want to share with the group. \n\n\n\nThere are also free-to-use toilets and shower rooms in the area\,and people can most likely change in there.\n\n\n\n\nWe can’t wait to celebrate with you all next week! It is cheaper than initially predicted! It will be ¥2000 per person. This is part of Kisuke’s 2nd Halloween Bowling tournament.After the bowling tournament (2 games) you gain unlimited access to everything else until 22:00. 1 Alcoholic drink is included in the price as well.  \n\n\n\n2.) Costumes (even very simple ones) are mandatory. You might find inspiration in this funny Japanese Halloween tradition of making costumes out of daily situations a.k.a. 地味ハロウィン \n\n\n\n3.) As per costumes Kisuke recommends arriving already dressed in your costume. I will find out if they are willing to make a few exceptions for people travelling from the far corners of Ehime.4.)
