DESCRIPTION:We’re thrilled to share the exciting details for the upcoming Mt. Ishizuchi climb hosted by Ehime AJET + Tokushima AJET on the 22nd of October. Here’s everything you need to know: \n\n\n\nEVENT DETAILS \n\n\n\n\nDate: Sunday\, October 22\n\n\n\nTime: 8:30 am meeting time (estimated to take about 6 hours round trip)\n\n\n\nLocation: Bottom of the Ishizuchi Ropeway\, near Joju Shrine\n\n\n\nCost: ¥2\,400 for ropeway (cash only)\, plus transportation and tolls (if taken) and any desired purchases at the restaurant/rest hut\n\n\n\n\nIf you’re planning to join us\, please reply to this email by Wednesday\, October 18 with your name\, your starting point\, and the names of anyone you’re signing up. Even if you haven’t expressed interest before\, you can sign up now. Keep in mind that signing up on the previous interest form does not confirm your participation. \n\n\n\nIf you live in the Chuyo or Toyo areas and are willing to host Tokushima JETs\, please let us know ASAP. You can specify how many people you can host\, and you don’t need to be part of the hike to offer accommodation. \n\n\n\nTRANSPORTATION OPTIONSEhime AJET  and Tokushima AJET won’t be providing transportation to or from Mt. Ishizuchi\, but here are some options to get there by the designated meeting time: \n\n\n\nBY CAR \n\n\n\n\nFree parking available at the bottom of the Ishizuchi Ropeway.\n\n\n\nEstimated journey times:\n\nFrom Matsuyama: 1-1.5 hours\n\n\n\nFrom Imabari: 1 hour\n\n\n\nFrom Shikokuchuo: 1-1.5 hours\n\n\n\nFrom Yawatahama: 2 hours\n\n\n\nFrom Uwajima: 2 hours\n\n\n\n\n\nPlease be aware of tolls\, and consider carpooling to split the costs.\n\n\n\n\nBY PUBLIC TRANSPORT \n\n\n\n\nIf you’re using public transport\, be at the Iyo-Saijo Station by 7:15 am to catch the Setouchi bus to the Ishizuchi Ropeway. No other bus is available until 10:27\, so punctuality is crucial.\n\n\n\nFor those coming from Matsuyama or south of Matsuyama\, you can meet at JR Matsuyama Station at 6 am to take the express train to Iyo-Saijo. Let us know if you plan to meet there so we can watch out for you.\n\n\n\n\nWHAT TO BRING Be well-prepared for the adventure! Here’s what we recommend you bring: \n\n\n\n\nFood/snacks (carbohydrates and protein recommended)\n\n\n\nReliable footwear (hiking boots with ankle support preferred)\n\n\n\nLots of water (at least 2 liters)\n\n\n\nPortable battery (recommended)\n\n\n\nSunscreen and cap\n\n\n\nLightweight raincoat\n\n\n\nRemovable layers and a warm hat\n\n\n\nA change of clothes and/or a towel (personal preference)\n\n\n\n\nLastly\, Tokushima AJET is interested in having dinner with Ehime JETs the night before the hike (Saturday\, October 21).
