Meet

The Team

Meet your new Ehime AJET Team! Our faces may have changed but our dedication to fostering a strong sense of community has not! Taking the momentum from last year, we look foreword to making this year even better with more amazing events, insightful blog posts, and all the helpful resources you need to succeed as a JET in the mikan prefecture. Making connections across the island and building a greater Ehime identity is our main goal. So, we hope to do our best to foster a rewarding experience for mikans and beyond.

We look forward to serving as your AJET board for this year! 🍊よろしくお願いします!  🙏

President

Kierene Boyd

Texas, U.S.A → Matsuyama

Hello, everyone! I’m Kieren. I’ve come to beautiful Ehime all the way from Texas (in the USA). While the weather isn’t any different, I’ve been enjoying the new experiences that come with moving overseas!

As Treasurer, I oversee funding for Ehime AJET’s activities and fundraising for its annual Scholarship.

As a human, I like to eat food, drink liquids, and engage in other human activities (like sitting, walking, and running when necessary). I’m not interested in the kind of activities an alien spying on Earth would enjoy. My favorite enrichment activity is guessing how many specimens there are in a field of crops, then counting each to verify my accuracy. Then, I like to cut nondescript circular patterns into the field.

I also like playing games, meeting new people, and trying new foods!

Treasurer

Oscar Keavney

Hello! I’m Oscar and I’m from the UK. I’m a second year JET going into my third and I work in elementary and junior high schools in Matsuyama City. Ehime is a wonderful place and to any new JETs who have been posted here, you’ve really landed on your feet! I enjoy traveling, running and photography and well as all the incredible food here. I’m exited to be part of AJET this year and I’m looking forward to meeting the new arrivals!

Vince Justin Roland S. Madriaga

Marinduque,Philippines → Matsuyama, Ehime

Hello, こんにちは, Mabuhay! I’m Vince, hailing from the Heart of the Philippines. The past two years in Japan have been some of the best of my life, largely thanks to the incredible Ehime community. As this year’s The Mikan Blog Editor and Content Creator, I’m excited to continue celebrating and immortalizing our community’s stories. I hope to encourage more members to share their voices while ensuring each piece is thoughtfully polished for everyone to enjoy. So many stories have already been shared—and I can’t wait to help you tell yours next!
